which was the most one sided ashes series in the history?

The 1920-1 series, that Australia won 5-0. Other than in the Third Test at Adelaide, England were never in the hust.
First Test: Australia won by 377 runs
Second Test: Australia won by an innings and 91 runs
Third Test: Australia won by 119 runs
Fourth Test: Australia won by eight wickets
Fifth Test: Australia won by nine wickets.
I know a lot of people will say the 2006-7 series, but England had their chances there, especially in the Adelaide Test. Had that result gone England’s way, which had it not been for Warne’s magical spell, Giles dropped catch, and Pietersen’s awful fielding on the final evening, it could very well have done, then the whole dynamics of the series would have altered.
Warwick Armstrong’s 1920-1 side was a supreme outfit, with great batting and superb fast bowling.

do u argree that back in 2005 the ashes series was the best series in cricket history?

Disagree completely. Maybe in recent history it was one of the very good series but it can’t be compared to say:
The Bodyline series
The 1961 tour of Australia by the West Indies
The ashes series here in about 1975 with guys like Snow and McCosker etc
It rivals the 2001 Australian tour of India.
There are some great series also held between others such as India and Sri Lanka and India and Pakistan.
Nope far too big a call to make calling it the best. Just very very good.

The Ashes is a Test cricket series, played between England and Australia . It is most celebrated rivalry of International cricket dates back to 1882. It is currently played nominally biennially, alternately in England and Australia.
A series of "The Ashes" now comprises five Test matches, two innings per match, under the regular rules for international cricket. If a series is drawn then the country holding the Ashes retains them.
The series is named after a satirical obituary published in an English newspaper, The Sporting Times, in 1882 after the match at The Oval in which Australia beat England on an English ground for the first time. The obituary stated that English cricket had died, and the body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia. The English media then dubbed the next English tour to Australia (1882-83) as the quest to regain The Ashes.
During that tour in Australia, a small terracotta urn was presented as a gift to the England captain Ivo Bligh by a group of Melbourne women. The contents of the urn are reputed to be the ashes of an item of cricket equipment, possibly a bail, ball or stump. The urn is erroneously believed, by some, to be the trophy of the Ashes series but it has never been formally adopted as such and Ivo Bligh always considered it to be a personal gift. Replicas of the urn are often held aloft by victorious teams as a symbol of their victory in an Ashes series , but the actual urn has never been presented or displayed as a trophy in this way. Whichever side holds the Ashes, the urn normally remains in the Marylebone Cricket Club Museum at Lord’s since being bequeathed to the MCC by Ivo Bligh’s widow upon his death.
